Default Suggestion, Embark Beach Herald type quest for new players.

In many MMO's we had what were called herald quests, in that they did nothing more than point you to an area of interest.

In Embark, nearly every time I am there, there is a lost new player from SJM or Ascalon with no clue how to return, and the oft given advice to "hit M and take the boat" just isn't giving them much help.

I would suggest from Ascalon, SJM, and Kamedan [even tho Kamadan has the boat unlocked] that a small quest be added and a Zaishen Scout.. and possibly a name change .. Zaishen Herald. Or.. possibly a quest given the first time you speak to a Zaishen Scout anywhere.

This would be a more step by step quest..
1. Go to Embark. Brief description of it and its purpose.

2. Talk to your respective Travel person to return to [blank].. Give name of NPC needed
Could be one quest listing all three names and continent. "To return to Ascalon in Tyria speak with Kenai [Tyrian Travel] ect.

3 return to start location for small 250 ish exp reward.

One nice thing, it is good to see many genuinely new players popping up there, but the way it is now someone has to walk them through the process of returning home.. and depending on dist and time.. there may not always be someone there willing to do it.

Problem is, to a new player the Scout appears to give a quest.. and they end up in Embark clueless as to Why are there and what they are supposed to be doing. A quest like this could explain more in the quest text.

Edit. I just finished explaining to a new level 8 from Factions how killing Pywatt was going to be a bit over her head. And..she said.. but I was sent here on a quest..it is bewildering to an actual new player.

i actually have to agree. the npcs with the exclamations over their heads do seem to confuse newer players because exclamations = quest giver.

and i would have loved to be partied up with that lvl 8 goin after pywatt

This is actually a very good idea.

There is one for PvP.

Actually, since PvP characters start at the Great Temple now, they should fix that quest too, to start at the Temple, instead at the isle of the nameless.

Then, for embark beach, the scouts should give you their chain of quests:
- One to go to the Beach.
- One to go back to a mission outpost.
- One to form a team with people.
- And one to complete any zaishen mission with a team of players or heroes.

I realize this isnt nearly as important to some as buffing up Pre even more is.. but I have spent many minutes today sheparding lost lambs at Embark again.

nice, this is helping new players
and i think adding ascalon, SJM and kamadan to the travel npc's is a must, which they should've done at the start

so yea....
